The colouring of seed is required by law in the EU in order to make the treatment with plant protection products (PPPs) visually recognizable. In addition to the legal visibility requirement, the coating also ensures optimum adhesion of crop protection products, micronutrients and performance additives to the seed. The uniform coating optimizes the flow and pourability of the seed. This ensures optimum application in the field.

Seed coating also plays an important role in field visibility, aesthetics and branding. Coloured coatings not only give the seed a high-quality appearance, but also strengthen the recognizability of your brand.

Future-proofing is also crucial: seed coatings must comply with the EU Microplastics Regulation. Non-biodegradable coatings will be banned from 2028/2031.
